Dream Global Project

Pakistan

Current statistics estimate that there are 20 million orphans globally, of which 5 million (an incredible 25% of the world’s orphans) reside in Pakistan.

The situation presents a unique opportunity to serve “the least of these” while also seeding the future of Christianity by teaching these forgotten children, and empowering the next generation.

Why this location?

Pakistan

Through one of our gifted global missionaries, in what can only be described as a “God moment” we were introduced to the pastor of an established Christian church in the Sindh province of Pakistan.

It is a rural area, in a quiet area of the province, not near any known terrorist activity. Residents tend to live peacefully here, and persecution of Christians has historically been at a minimum.

The surrounding community leaders and residents have known this Pakistani pastor, his family and church members for years, and as a result are very trusting of their heart for helping others.

It presented an amazing opportunity to partner with a local leader, who speaks English, and has a passion for helping orphans.   The need is greater than he can possibly tackle alone, yet he is fearless, with a heart much larger than the mission ahead.

Plans for the Orphanage

The orphanage is being constructed on a large vacant field, with plenty of room for future expansion.  Construction is nearing completion.

The next stage of development will be to furnish and supply the mission.  It will be staffed locally with church members.  Then we will want to help sustain the monthly operating expenses.

The orphanage was designed initially to house 100 children. Although both boys and girls will be served, the greatest urgency is to start with young girls.  The tragic reality is that due to cultural norms in Pakistan, orphan girls are often severely abused and left for dead in remote fields.

Plans are to house, clothe, feed, educate and counsel these children, all while teaching them the Gospel.  Referrals are already coming in from the surrounding community.

Are There Plans to Keep in Touch?  Ensure Success?

Absolutely!

The LMM Board is already talking to this Pastor monthly via phone and Zoom calls.  He sends regular video updates.

Our LMM missionary, Safeeya, has visited the area twice, and plans to continue to visit at least annually.

And we will be adding photos and updates on the website, as well as publishing a blog series and occasional podcasts.

Gifts, prayers, advice and resources are being provided along the way.  It is truly a Christian partnership.

Are More Global Projects Planned?

Yes!

The need in Pakistan is great. And we will not stop with one orphanage.

We are aware of more villages in need of orphanages, water wells, and mobile health care resources.

Water Wells

Clean water is a significant issue in the more remote villages in Pakistan.
A water well costs ~ $1500 to build.
We’ve already underwritten wells in the vicinity.
300 more are needed.

Mobile Health Care

Minimal healthcare exists in these small remote villages.
We aspire to underwrite some basic healthcare services.
